I have great trouble considering myself to be an artist, Bankers are like that, black and white. Yes, I like different forms of the arts; though not all. If I like something that I see, read or hear, I always delve deeper, if not I’ll just let it go.
I’ve owned cameras since my early 20s and these were used only to document parts of my life, when I remembered to use it. That is until 2011 while I was on a trip to Italy cycling. I saw the photographs/postcards of another member of the cycling group and thought I could do that!
Wikipedia gives this explanation: - “Fine-art photography is photography created in accordance with the vision of the artist as a photographer, using photography as a medium to bring something to life that only lives in the artist’s mind. Simply capturing what one sees in an artistic way is the art of photography and not creating fine art. The goal of fine-art photography is to express an idea, a message, or an emotion.
My Gallery Page is a series of black and white images. Paris is a city for flaneurs. The city is photogenic in the way other cities cannot compete. This is my interpretation of the Paris of yesteryear. Paris, I now consider, after numerous visits, to be my second spiritual home.
